General Summary
Manage costs and performs implementation, maintenance and support for all technology, including people
and business processes as necessary to solve complex business issues.

Main Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
 Maintain network connections between all W/K locations and the Data Center
 Upgrading, maintaining and troubleshooting all servers and software.
 Responding to and troubleshooting all automated alerts
 Responding to all employee requests, suggestions and issues
 Researching of new technologies to improve business process and user efficiencies
 Mobile phone set-up and support
 Training of software and troubleshooting of systems and software
 Back-up, support and maintain the plants ASTEC systems

Secondary Responsibilities:
 Review all technology related bills for best pricing
 Documenting of internal data flows
 Set-up and manage new job trailers as needed per contract for all IT/Communications needs
 Training and management of “Drone” operations for stockpile inventory systems and jobsites

Educational Requirements:
 Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field preferred
 Specific certifications highly preferred:
o Project+
o Security+
o Network+
o MCSA Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator
o Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Expert (Word & Excel)

Professional Experience:
 5+ years of management experience in running an IT department, preferably within a construction
business

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
 Strong communication skills, working with and within teams
 Strong project management, organization and troubleshooting skills
 Ability to meet deadlines while under extreme pressure
 Strong knowledge of possible security threats and software patches
 Ability to manage vendor relationships
 Ability to respond to failures in a timely manner
 Understanding of business finance
 Ability to train staff on new software and updates
 Strong understanding of safety procedure and electrical safety

Physical Requirements:
 Must be able to use eyes, hands, arms, fingers, sit, stand, walk, crawl, stoop, carry up to 30 lbs., use
stairs, drive a motorized vehicle, and work in indoor and outdoor environments that may be cold, hot
and have dust and fumes as normal per paving operations.
